I deleted this scene because I was afraid it slowed the action of the mystery down too much. Every few scenes Garland and Avery seemed to be up to their eyeballs in each other. I was afraid this was just one sex scene too many.

I wondered what kind of explicit syrupy scene you could have deleted. I was thinking of syrup as a metaphor for this sweet pair. But I finished the story last night and now I get it. It’s real cane syrup!

Heehee! Exactly! My grandfather grew sugar cane and had an old-fashioned mill. He would make a big batch of syrup every year. I always thought it was wonderful. I thought these two would enjoy playing with it. 🙂
